
Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27th, 1976. He grew up in Southern California, and was a student at Huntington Beach High School where He was a leading player on both the basketball and football teams. Gonzalez continued to be a star in these sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He was instrumental in leading the team's football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record at the school for receiving nine receptions and set it again. The following year, Gonzalez led the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. Gonzalez went on to the NFL Draft in 1997. Gonzalez was picked as the 13th overall selection by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gonzalez was in the Chiefs between 1997 and 2008. The Chiefs sold Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. Gonzalez never caught less than 59 passes in Gonzalez's second NFL season.
